A Surreal Experience At The D'Arenberg Cube

April 05, 2018

When Willy Wonka first opened his mysterious factory to the lucky golden ticket holders, they were fascinated, overwhelmed and in wonderment of all of the wacky pleasures they found. You too can capture this feeling, with a trip to the D’Arenberg Cube, nestled among the vines of the McLaren Vale Hills.

The vision of Chester Osborn, this cube is an ode to the wacky and wondrous world of the man himself, and named after his father d’Arry. With five levels of art inspired space displaying concepts, colours and crazy scenes, this architecturally inspiring cube appears as if hovering above the vineyard.

More than an exploration of architecture and art, the D’Arenberg cube is a world class fine dining restaurant and a cellar door. Two levels of degustation offer sweeping views of the Willunga Hills through the origami style folding doors.

The more arty side of the cube is designed to ignite the senses with features including a fruit covered wine inhalation room, a culinary peep show and a 360 degree video room.

The D’Arenberg cube is located only a 35 minute drive away from Seawall, entry is $10 and includes a complimentary wine tasting experience, with the option to upgrade to a more extensive experience. This is something truly unique, that cannot be found anywhere but Adelaide.
